The presenter for July’s installment of Lunch & Learn is Dr. Linda Fuselier. Dr. Fuselier’s talk will connect with the historical records and the people who depended on the river. Her talk will also highlight changes to the Ohio River over the last couple of centuries. This presentation is offered as a part of “Afloat: An Ohio River Way of Life,” a year-long, regional celebration of the Ohio River. Lunch and Learn is free and open to the public, but registration is required here.
“The Ohio River and its tributaries are home to a fabulous diversity of fishes, many of which were used by Shantyboat residents on the river. In celebration of the Ohio River, we will meet some of these species and use fish records to trace the recent history of the Ohio River,” according to Dr. Fuselier.
Dr. Fuselier is the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Education and Associate Professor of Biology, College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Louisville. She earned her Ph.D., from the University of Kentucky. Her background is in evolutionary biology, fish biology, and plant ecology.
